When I dance, my body speaks a language of its own
Meghashree started her career in Bharatanatyam dance at the tender age of 8, training in Vazavoor style of dance under Natyacharya Karnataka Kala Shri Award winner SHRI. K S MANI IYER & his son "Nattuvanga Vidwan" Prakash S Iyer for more than a decade. A keen and dedicated student she gave her classical dance junior exams at the age of 10 and successfully completed her Bharatanatyam junior exam conducted by K.S.E.E. Board with flying colours.
Meghashree started performing at various festivals and occasions, to include a few are, Mysore Dussehra, Madikeri Dussehra, Madurai Meenakshi temple (Tamilnadu), Laksha Deepotsava (Srirangapatnam), ISKON temple Bangalore, Stein Auditorium, Delhi, etc. Later on, she gave her senior exams in Bharatanatyam, and accomplished first class results adding yet another feather to her dancing crown.
Her interest and passion towards dance started growing day by day, and she shifted to Mysore where she continued learning Bharatanatyam under Karnataka Kalathilaka Smt. Guru Nandini Eswer & her son Dr. Rohitha Eswer, founder of Raasavrunda School of Dance, Mysore. She trained in Tanjore style of dance, exposing her mind and heart to a different style of Bharatanatyam that gave her the confidence and increased her curiosity to learn the form to its fullest.
After training for 4 years she gave her exams for VIDWAT in Bharatanatyam for the academic year 2015-16 (Pre Vidwat) & 2016-17 (Post Vidwat).
Meghashree is an Engineering graduate in Information Science and Engineering, from The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore. Being an engineer her passion always drove her to dance. Hence she rejected working at the multinational company Accenture, and devoted her time to the in depth knowledge of Bharatanatyam.
Not only is she a great artist and performer, she also has technical knowledge and nuisances of dance at its best, making her the No. 1 rank holder, as Karnataka State Topper in her Post Vidwat exams, therefore claiming herself to be known thereafter as VIDUSHI MEGHASHREE.
